Denver Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 qt. milk
1 c. shortening
3 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 3/4 c. water (warm)
3 tsp. salt
10 1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. salt (omit if using self-rising flour)
Preparation

Mix yeast liquid and shortening to warmed milk.
Add sugar and 5 cups flour or enough to make dough the consistency of pancake batter.
Cover; let rise for 2 hours or double in bulk.
Add baking powder, soda, salt and flour until dough is consistency of regular dough.
Roll and cut biscuits.
Place on greased pans and put in freezer.
After frozen, store in plastic bags.
Take out what you want.
Let thaw and bake as usual.
