Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. coconut
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. quick rolled oats
Preparation

Beat eggs in a mixing bowl.
Add sugars and softened shortening, mixing well.
Stir in coconut, nuts and vanilla.
Stir together the flour, salt, soda and baking powder.
Combine with the first mixture.
Stir in rolled oats and mix thoroughly.
Roll into small balls the size of a large walnut and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 9 minutes or until nicely browned.
