Lentil Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. dry lentils
    1 medium onion
    salt to taste
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. oil
    1 can tomato sauce
Preparation
    Cook together until lentils are very soft and most of the water is absorbed.
    Mash or put in the blender.
    Cut day old bread in 1/2-inch cubes and stir well into lentils along with 1 whole beaten egg.
    The amount of bread needed will vary with the amount of liquid left in lentils.
    Start with 4 to 5 slices.
    Heat oil in frypan and drop lentil mixture into oil.
    Brown on both sides. Serve with tomato sauce on a roll, etc.
