Jalapeno Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. flour
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. chili powder
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    1 large egg
    1 medium onion, chopped
    7 oz. whole kernel corn
    4 oz. chopped pimentos
    3 1/2 oz. jalapenos, seeded and chopped
    3 Tbsp. melted margarine
    3 oz. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 1/2 c. bottled salsa (optional)
Preparation
    In a large bowl, combine first 6 ingredients.
    Make a well in the center. In a medium bowl, combine next 6 ingredients.
    Pour into well of dry mixture. Add margarine and blend in.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese and bake 5 minutes more to melt cheese.
    Serve with salsa or soup, if desired.
