All American Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. chuck roast, cubed
    2 Tbsp. oil
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    6 medium potatoes, quartered
    4 carrots, cut in 2-inch pieces
    3 medium onions, quartered
    4 stalks celery, cut in 2-inch pieces
    1 tsp. salt
    1 clove garlic
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Brown beef in oil in Dutch oven.
    Add water and seasonings. Cover; simmer 1 1/2 hours.
    Add vegetables; cover and simmer 20 minutes.
    Serve pan drippings with roast.
    Serves 6.
