Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo
    1/2 c. water
    1 qt. raw peanuts
    3/4 inch sq. paraffin wax
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    In a large heavy boiler, put sugar, Karo and water.
    Bring to a full rolling boil, then add peanuts.
    Cook continually, stirring slow.
    Listen for popping peanuts.
    Cook until peanuts are lightly brown.
    Add wax and melt it.
    Add soda.
    Stir fast.
    Dump on board immediately and spread fast.
    (Board should be 2 feet by 2 feet, covered with aluminum foil.)
    Cool, then break in pieces. Seal in Ziploc bags or can be poured into 8 x 10-inch lightly buttered aluminum pans.
