Meltaways - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. milk chocolate or milk chocolate coating
    2/3 c. whipping cream
    1 Tbsp. warm melted shortening
    1/4 tsp. oil of peppermint
    milk chocolate
    green coating
Preparation
    Melt the 1 pound chocolate in the top of a double boiler over hot water.
    Remove from heat as soon as it is fully melted.
    In a small saucepan, bring whipping cream to a boil; measure the temperature with a candy thermometer.
    Let whipping cream cool to about 150\u00b0, about 1 minute.
    Pour the warm, melted chocolate into a large mixing bowl; add melted shortening and mix well.
    Add flavoring to hot cream; add the hot cream at one time to the chocolate.
