Bread N Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    8 small onions, sliced
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    5 c. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    1 to 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. dry mustard
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Combine cucumbers, onions and salt.
    Cover with water and soak for 2 hours.
    Drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients and bring to boil.
    Add cucumbers, onions and salt mixture and cook until they start to get clear or change color (10 to 15 minutes).
    Set jars and lids in hot water and fill jars with pickles.
    Seal tightly.
