Aunt Laura'S Lime Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

7 1/2 lb. cukes
2 gal. water
2 c. hydrated lime
9 c. sugar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. whole cloves
1 tsp. mixed spices
1 tsp. salt
2 qt. vinegar
Preparation

Cut cukes in chunks or thick slices.
Combine water and lime. Cover cukes.
Soak 24 hours, stirring occasionally.
Drain and wash with clean water.
Cover with fresh water and let stand 3 hours.
