Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 quarts medium cucumbers
    3 quarts water
    1 cup pickling salt
    1 quart vinegar
    1 tablespoon alum
    1 tablespoon turmeric
    1 sprig dill
    1 clove garlic
    1 teaspoon pickling spice
Preparation
    Add to each quart.
    Pour over boiling brine; seal.
    Can use after 6 weeks.
