Pinwheel Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1 c. white sugar
    2 1/2 c. chopped dates
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. brown sugar
    4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine dates, sugar and water and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Stir in nuts and cool. Cream the last 6 ingredients together and divide the dough in half. Roll one out and spread with half of the date nut mix. Roll up like jelly roll and do the same with the other half. Freeze until firm, then slice and bake in oven at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
