Cherry Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 can cherry pie filling
    2 eggs
    2 c. flour
    2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar; add vanilla and stir in eggs one at a time.
    Add flour and nuts.
    Spread 3/4 of batter in ungreased 9 x 12-inch pan.
    Cover with cherry pie filling.
    Drop remaining batter by spoonful on filling and spread a little, but let some filling show through.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
