Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. pecan halves
Preparation

Toast pecans 10 minutes at 300\u00b0.
Combine all ingredients except nuts and vanilla.
Cook until syrup spins a small thread, about 5 minutes.
Remove from heat; add nuts and vanilla.
Stir quickly until syrup crystallizes.
Pour onto buttered platter. Rapidly, but gently, separate nuts.
