Oatmeal Cake And Topping - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oatmeal (quick cooking)
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. white sugar
    2 well beaten eggs
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix first 2 ingredients. Let stand 20 minutes until cool. Cream next 3 ingredients. Add vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Add oatmeal last. Bake at 350\u00b0 in a 13 x 9 x 2 pan 40 to 45 minutes.
