Overseas Favorite Fudge - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
dash of salt
3 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. chopped almonds
1/4 tsp. almond extract
Preparation

Heat sugar, milk, corn syrup and salt until sugar dissolves. Cook without stirring to soft ball stage (236\u00b0 on candy thermometer).
Remove from heat.
Add butter, but do not stir. Cool to 110\u00b0.
Add vanilla and almond extract.
Beat furiously until fudge is stiff and it begins to lose its sheen.
Add almonds continuing to beat.
Pour in buttered 8 x 8-inch pan; cool.
Cut into small squares.
Makes about 3 dozen depending on size.
