Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. green tomatoes
    4 onions, sliced
    1 c. green pepper, chopped
    8 c. white vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    1/4 c. mustard seed
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. ground turmeric
Preparation
    Core and slice tomatoes.
    Combine with onions and green pepper.
    Set aside.
    In a saucepan, combine remaining ingredients and

    a boil.
    Pack vegetables into clean, hot pint jars
    leaving
    1/2\tinch
    of
    room at the top.
    Pour hot liquid over vegetables.
    Prepare lids according to manufacturers directions.
    Wipe jar rims; adjust lid.
    Process jars in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes.\tMakes 8 pints.
