Mom'S Apple Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/3 c. milk
    2 c. chopped apples
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Melt margarine in 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan. In saucepan, heat sugar and water until sugar melts.
    Cut shortening into flour until its like fine crumbs.
    Add milk and stir with a fork until dough leaves side of bowl.
    Turn out onto a floured surface.
    Knead until smooth.
    Make 1/4-inch thick rectangle with dough.
    Sprinkle apples and cinnamon evenly over dough.
    Roll up like a jelly roll.
    Slice into 1/2-inch thick slices.
    Place in pan with butter.
    Pour sugar syrup around rolls. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
    May serve with ice cream.
