Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. boiling water
4 c. hot half and half
1 medium diced onion
2 c. shredded carrots
2 lb. potatoes, cubed
4 oz. salt pork, diced
1 stick butter
3 Tbsp. olive oil
salt, pepper and garlic
1/2 c. flour
1 lb. cooked diced chicken or canned clams, diced, or crab
Preparation

Brown salt pork in olive oil in bottom of 5-quart kettle.
Add onion and simmer until clear.
Add water, potatoes and carrots. Cook until tender.
Add hot half and half, meat and seasoning and butter; use flour to thicken.
