Homemade Graham Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. graham flour (whole wheat)
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, baking soda and cinnamon.
Add the buttermilk and vanilla; mix well.
Pour out onto an oiled 12 x 16-inch flat pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the batter is firm, medium brown in color and shrinks from the sides of the pan.
With a metal spatula, completely loosen the hot patty from the pan.
Allow to cool on a rack for several hours or overnight.
    Preheat oven to 275\u00b0.
Break the patty into chunks and put through a meat grinder, using a coarse blade or pulse in a food processor until coarse crumbs are formed.
Divide crumbs between two 12 x 16-inch pans.
Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
Let cool, then store in an airtight container.
    Serve as a cold cereal.
