Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. dried split peas
2 1/2 qt. cold water
2 c. milk or water
1/2 onion
3 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 inch cube fat, salt pork or ham
Preparation

Soak peas several hours; drain.
Add cold water, pork and onion.
Simmer 3 to 4 hours; rub through sieve.
Add butter and flour cooked together.
Salt and pepper.
Dilute with milk or water.
