Sugarless Health Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. dates or 12 prunes, cut up
1 c. raisins
1 c. water
1/2 c. vegetable shortening, margarine or butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 Tbsp. liquid sweetener
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0. Cut up dates or prunes into saucepan. Add raisins and water.
Bring to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes. Add shortening.
Mix, then cool.
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
Do not overbake.
When cool, cut into squares.
