Old Boston Sour Cream Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Work in shortening with a pastry blender.
    Add sour cream.
    Mix only until blended.
    Turn onto lightly floured board or tabletop and knead lightly for about 30 seconds.
    Pat into 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut into 2-inch rounds with floured biscuit cutter or the top of a drinking glass.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    You may brush melted butter on tops before baking to get a browner crust.
