Ingredients

1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, well beaten
1 Tbsp. salad oil
4 sweet Spanish or any other large onions
fat, heated to 375~ (for deep frying)
Preparation

Blend the first three ingredients and set aside.
Combine the egg, milk and oil in a bowl and beat until thoroughly blended. Beat in the dry ingredients until batter is smooth.
Cover and set aside while preparing onions.
Peel and slice 1/4-inch thick and separate into rings.
