Soft Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. milk
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    scant tsp. salt
    5 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Beat eggs and combine with creamed mixture.
    Mix well.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add half of dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
    Add milk and vanilla. Add rest of dry ingredients.
    Cookies may be dropped or rolled 1/4-inch thick and cut.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until delicately browned, approximately 10 minutes.
