Prize Fudge Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, separated
    4 sq. melted chocolate
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Beat shortening until smooth.
    Add 1 1/2 cups of sugar gradually and blend until creamy.
    Add egg yolks and melted chocolate.
    Sift dry ingredients together and add to chocolate mixture alternately with milk, beating until smooth.
    Add vanilla and chopped nuts.
    Beat egg whites and add remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
    Fold into chocolate mixture.
    Bake in greased 9-inch layer pans for 35 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
