Prune Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. butter
    2 eggs, separated
    1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt (scant)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. sour milk or buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped cooked prunes
    1 Tbsp. juice from prunes
Preparation
    Cream butter and part of sugar.
    Add egg yolks and rest of sugar and cream well.
    Sift flour, salt and soda.
    Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour milk.
    Add vanilla and prunes.
    Beat egg whites and fold into batter.
    Pour into 2 wax-paper lined, 8-inch round cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
    Ice with Mocha Icing.
