Clinton'S Chips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sifted plain flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. packed vegetable shortening
    1 c. packed light brown sugar
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    2 c. old-fashioned oats
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine flour, salt and baking soda on waxed paper.
    Set aside.
    Mix shortening, sugars and vanilla with an electric mixer until creamy.
    Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
    Add flour mixture and oats.
    Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by well-rounded teaspoonful onto a greased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
    Remove baking sheet to a wire rack for 2 minutes before removing cookies.
    Remove cookies onto a wire rack to cool completely.
    Makes approximately 7 1/2 dozen cookies.
