Ingredients

1 c. soft butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. soda
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
2 Tbsp. buttermilk
Preparation

Cream butter with 1 cup sugar; add eggs and beat well.
Add sifted dry ingredients and buttermilk; mix well.
Spread in greased 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan; sprinkle with remaining sugar.
Bake in (400\u00b0) hot oven for about 20 minutes.
Cool.
Cut in 40 cookies about 2-inch square.
