Apple Cider - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. apple cider
    1 (1 lb.) box brown sugar, less 1/4 c.
    2 tsp. whole allspice
    6-inch cinnamon sticks
    dash of nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 sliced oranges
Preparation
    Heat all ingredients to boiling.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
    Remove cinnamon sticks and orange slices.
    Serve. Yields 1 gallon.
