Alabama Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 Tbsp. butter or shortening
    1 heaping Tbsp. granulated sugar
    2 c. lukewarm milk
    2 tsp. baking powder
    4 to 5 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine yeast, sugar, baking powder and shortening with milk. Mix flour to make a stiff dough. Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with floured biscuit cutter. Butter top of each biscuit and place one on top of another.
    (These are doubled decked biscuits.) Let rise 1 hour.
    Place on greased pan and bake at 375\u00b0 until brown.
