Hot Mushroom Canapes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 slices sandwich bread, crusts removed
    8 oz. cream cheese, softened
    3 Tbsp. onion, minced
    15 medium mushrooms, minced
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg yolk, beaten
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cut each slice of bread into quarters; place on cookie sheet and bake at 250\u00b0 until browned lightly.
    Set \"toasted\" bread aside.
    Saute the mushrooms and onion in melted butter; drain.
