Cocoa Black Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dried black beans
    10 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 large green bell pepper, cored and halved
    2/3 c. peanut/salad oil
    1 large yellow onion, sliced
    1 small hot green pepper, halved and seeded
    3 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
    1 1/2 Tbsp. plain cocoa powder
    1 bay leaf, crushed
    1/4 tsp. whole cumin seed
    1 tsp. sugar
    2 1/2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
    2 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil
Preparation
    Rinse and soak beans overnight in 10 cups water with 1 teaspoon salt and green bell pepper.
    In a large heavy 6 quart pot, bring beans, soaking water and pepper to a boil.
    Simmer until tender, about 45 minutes.
    Remove green pepper pieces and discard.
