Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates
1 stick margarine
1 egg, beaten
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. sugar
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Put dates, margarine and sugar in skillet.
Cook over low flame for 5 minutes.
Stir in beaten egg.
Allow to cool a few minutes.
Add Rice Krispies, nuts and vanilla.
When cool enough to handle, roll into balls, then in powdered sugar or flaked coconut.
