Spareribs-Cabbage 'N Kraut("For Crock-Pot") - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. lean pork spareribs, cut in serving pieces
    salt and pepper
    1 (8 oz.) can sauerkraut, drained
    1/2 small head cabbage, thinly sliced
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    1 apple, quartered, cored and sliced
    1 tsp. caraway seed or dill weed
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Sprinkle spareribs with salt and pepper.
    Brown spareribs in heavy skillet or broiler pan.
    Drain.
    Put sauerkraut, cabbage, onion and apple in crock-pot.
    Add browned ribs.
    Add caraway seed or dill weed to water and pour over all.
    Cover and cook on low 6 to 8 hours (or high for 4 to 5 hours; stir several times during cooking when using high only).
    Serves 3 to 4.
