Hesenpfeffer - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 dressed rabbit
    2 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
    1 onion, sliced
    2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Cut cleaned rabbit into serving pieces.
    Place them in a crock or jar and cover them with the vinegar and water.
    Add the seasonings and soak rabbit for 2 days.
    Remove the rabbit and roll in flour.
    Brown in hot fat.
    Gradually add 1 cup of pickling solution.
    Cover and simmer about 1 hour.
    Thicken with flour the liquid that remains and season to taste.
