Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. margarine
3/4 c. raisins
3/4 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. caraway seed (optional)
1 1/4 c. buttermilk (approximately)
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Cream margarine into dry ingredients.
Add buttermilk, a little at a time, to form a slightly moist dough.
Add raisins and caraway seed.
Turn dough into greased round pan.
For best results, cut an \"X\" in top and extend down the sides.
Pat lightly with milk before baking.
Bake 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Yield: 1 loaf.
