Cherokee Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 Tbsp. cooking oil
    dash of pepper
    1 can tomatoes
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 c. Minute rice
    2 to 3 slices cheese, cut in 1/2-inch slices
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. oregano
    1/8 tsp. garlic
Preparation
    Brown meat in oil; drain and add onion.
    Cook until tender. Stir in all ingredients, except cheese. Bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
    Stir occasionally.
    Spoon into baking dish.
    Make lattice top with cheese. Broil until cheese melts.
    Makes 6 servings.
