Baked Hash Browns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (32 oz.) pkg. frozen hash browns
    1 onion, chopped
    1/4 lb. cubed cheese
    1 large can evaporated milk
    1 stick margarine, cubed
    pepper to taste
    6 slices cheese
Preparation
    Put all ingredients in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Let stand overnight in refrigerator.
    Start in a cold oven.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0. Fifteen minutes before done, arrange cheese slices on top.
    Return to oven for remaining time.
    Serves 8 to 10.
