Divinity Puffs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 stiffly beaten egg whites
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped cherries or nuts (can use both)
Preparation
    Cook sugar, corn syrup and water to a thin syrup stage. Slowly pour 1/3 over egg whites, beating constantly.
    Cook remaining syrup to thread stage.
    Add 1/2 to egg white mixture, beating constantly.
    Cook remaining syrup to form ball stage.
    Add to egg white mixture.
    Add vanilla; beat until mixture holds shape when dropped from a spoon.
    Serve from teaspoon onto wax paper. Can sprinkle nuts on top.
