Scalloped Sweet Potatoes And Apples - cooking recipe

3 medium sweet potatoes
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. apple cider
1/2 tsp. mace
2 medium apples, pared and sliced
Preparation

Boil potatoes in water for 25 minutes.
Drain and let cool. Peel and cut into 1/4-inch slices.
Melt butter in small pan. Add brown sugar, cider and mace. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
