Fried Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. buttermilk
1 egg
3 Tbsp. oil
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. active dry yeast
5 to 6 c. self-rising flour
oil for deep frying
honey or honey butter (optional)
Preparation

In a small saucepan, heat buttermilk until bubbles form at edge of pan.
Set aside to cool slightly.
When buttermilk has cooled, stir in egg, oil, sugar and yeast until well combined; set aside 5 minutes for yeast to soften.
