Caramel Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. uncooked Quaker oats
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1 (14 oz.) bag vanilla caramels
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda and salt.
    Next add butter until mix is crumbly.
    Reserve 1 cup for topping.
    Press into 13 x 9-inch greased pan.
    Bake 10 minutes.
    Cool.
    Top with nuts and chocolate.
