Mother Gerhardt'S Citation Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/3 c. milk (scant)
    5 Tbsp. melted butter
    4 Tbsp. cocoa
    2/3 c. flour
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
Preparation
    Cream eggs and sugar.
    Sift flour and cocoa together.
    Add this alternately with milk to creamed eggs and sugar.
    Pour in melted butter.
    Grease or spray with Pam an 8 x 8 x 2-inch or 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Put wax paper on bottom of pan.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven until it tests done when it rolls away from edges of pan. Remove from oven and let sit for 3 to 5 minutes on cooling rack. Then turn out and remove wax paper.
    Makes 18 (1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 3/4-inch) brownies.
