Green Beans In Tomato Basil Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh green beans or frozen
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1 large clove garlic, sliced
    1 fresh tomato, finely chopped
    1/2 Tbsp. fresh sweet basil
    water (if necessary)
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Cook beans until tender.
    Meanwhile, prepare sauce.
    Lightly brown the garlic in olive oil.
    Remove garlic.
    Let oil cool a bit and add tomato and basil; fry for 10 minutes over medium heat. Add a little water if mixture seems too dry.
    Then add cooked beans with 1/4 cup more water and stir on low heat until water is evaporated and beans are just lightly frying in the tomato-oil sauce.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    You may serve at this point or even better refrigerated for a few hours.
    Reheat.
    Serve. Freezes well.
    Serves 4 to 6.
