Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. water
    1 c. vinegar
    1/3 c. salt
    cucumbers
    grape leaves
    garlic cloves
    dill
    alum
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in cold water for 2 hours.
    Pack in sterilized jars.
    To each jar, add grape leaves, garlic cloves, dill and a pinch of alum.
    Bring water, vinegar and salt to a boil and pour over cucumbers.
    Seal at once.
