Helen'S Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 bag peanuts
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 c. water
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. soda
    vanilla or coconut (if desired)
Preparation
    Cook sugar, Karo syrup and water until it starts bubbling, 2 to 3 minutes.
    Add peanuts after it has cooked.
    Add salt, butter and soda.
    (Can add vanilla or coconut, if desired.)
    Spread foil on a cookie sheet and butter it.
    Pour candy on foil.
    Candy will turn brittle in cold water when done.
