Sweet Pie Crust - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 beaten egg
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt and soda.
    Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, milk and flavoring.
    Add dry ingredients, a little at a time, until all flour has been absorbed.
    Add more flour and knead dough lightly until easy to handle.
    Roll out and cut into rounds.
    Line pie pan with crust.
    Fill with fruit and add crust strippings. Bake at 350\u00b0 until brown, about 20 to 30 minutes.
    Makes about 4 pies.
