Fig Jam - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. figs, peeled and mashed
    6 c. sugar
    2 large pkg. strawberry jello
    1 1/2 pkg. Sure-Jell
Preparation
    Combine figs, sugar and strawberry jello in large pot.
    Cook for 20 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly.
    An electric beater helps to do the stirring.
    Add Sure-Jell and cook for 10 minutes more, stirring occasionally by hand.
    Pack in 6 pint jelly jars while mixture is hot.
    Allow to cool slightly before putting lids on jars.
