Mediterranean Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 2 1/2 lb. chicken pieces
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 c. catsup
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. dry red wine (optional)
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    hot cooked pasta or noodles
Preparation
    Brown chicken well in oil. Drain drippings, reserving 1 tablespoon. Saute onion, celery and garlic in drippings.
    Stir in catsup and next 6 ingredients. Add chicken. Baste with sauce. Cover and simmer 35 to 45 minutes until tender.
    Makes 4 to 5 servings.
