Ingredients

3/4 c. melted shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. dark molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix shortening and sugar.
Add molasses, then egg.
Mix soda into flour, then mix in spices and salt. Add this to the shortening mix.
Refrigerate overnight.
Form balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0.
